Impairment of Assets and Market Reaction during COVID-19 Pandemic on the Example of WSE

The main task of the article is to examine impact reported impairment assets (IoA) on market reaction investors Warsaw Stock Exchange [WSE] in crisis condition caused by COVID-19 pandemic. There a need verify whether disclosure this information period economic downturn will cause similar negative as previous topics area. Research undertaken helps identify rules behaviour (in short term) updating company’s conditions different than times prosperity. hypothesis be verified using event study methodology. It allows upcoming about IoA during pandemic confirms an existence statistically significant abnormal returns. Based 55 cases current reports informing IoA, which were submitted year 2020 and finally qualified for research sample, I have not observed returns adjacent days. results are from those obtained researchers who under non-crisis economy.
